The wash water siphon break provides an air gap in the drain to prevent the siphoning of dirty water back into the washer. If you notice water leaking on the floor behind your appliance, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Recommended Item: Consider replacing the Drain Pipe (item 208847) at the same time you complete this repair.
