Water Pump

The Washer Drain Pump is what drains the waste water out of your washing machine. It also houses a large filter which can be cleaned with affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets once a month. If water is leaking onto the floor from the pump, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
