Your appliance door is opened and closed frequently, meaning the mechanism may wear out over time. It is not uncommon that this part will need to be replaced. You may need a putty knife to release the mounting tab and remove the faulty rocker switch. To install the new one, simply attach the wires and snap it into place in the liner of your refrigerator or freezer. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
