Gearcase Assembly

The Washer Gear Case drives the agitator and spins the basket in the washer. This part is designed to be used with select Whirlpool®, Kenmore®, Maytag® and Admiral® washing machines; check to see if your model number is compatible. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10135699) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *Affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
