Suspension Spring

The Top Load Washer Suspension Spring keeps the weight of the wash tub balanced. If the end of the spring rusts and your tub sits off balance, this part may need to be replaced. To access this part, you'll first need to remove the front panel of the washer. Usually held in place by two screws, some washer models have trim covers that need to be removed before gaining access to the screws. Before installing the spring, add a dab of grease to lubricate it. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the combination washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies.
