Water Inlet Valve

The SxS Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve allows water to enter the refrigerator’s water dispenser and ice maker. The package includes (1) secondary dual water inlet valve, (1) plastic tube, (1) plastic union and installation instructions. If one of the solenoids in the original unit is bad, it will prevent water from entering the ice maker and dispenser. If the icemaker of your appliance stops making ice, the ice cubes are small or hollow, no water flows from the dispenser or it flows constantly, or if you notice water at the bottom of the fresh food compartment, the water inlet valve could be malfunctioning and need to be replaced. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and intermediate repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also turn off the refrigerator’s water supply before you begin. Helpful Tips: We do not recommend disassembling your appliance’s current water inlet valve to clean it due to the risk of failure after the repair. Note that the replacement part features push-to-lock fittings to secure the plastic water lines.
