Water Valve

This Top Load Washer Dual Water Inlet Valve allows hot and cold water to fill in the washer during the cleaning cycle. If your washer isn’t receiving the proper amounts of cold and/or hot water, one or more of the solenoids in the current valve may have failed. You may also need to replace this part if you find that your washer is filling slowly, not filling at all or leaking cold water onto the floor. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Recommended Item: Consider replacing the Fill Hose (item 8212487RP) at the same time you complete this repair. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
