Bimetallic Defrost

This SxS Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat is a safety device that clips onto the evaporator in the freezer. The Defrost Thermostat turns off the defrost heater in case it gets too warm in the freezer section. If your refrigerator does not defrost, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Required Accessories: You will need two wire nuts to complete this repair. Helpful Tip: Take a digital photo of the shelf side rails before removing to aid with reinstallation.
