Agitator Base

This Top Load Washer Lower Agitator moves your clothes back and forth during the wash cycle. To access the part, remove the fabric softener end cap and then remove the center bolt from the agitator. After pulling the agitator out of the machine, separate the lower agitator from the upper agitator and save the spacer washer that sits on top of the lower agitator so you can use it for the new part. Replacing this part will require basic tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
