Balance Ring

The Top Load Washer Balance Ring allows for smooth operation and prevents your washer from knocking or walking. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly if an uneven load creates an out-of-balance situation. You'll remove the cabinet from the washing machine to access the balance ring. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the combination washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
