Control Timer

The Top Load Washer Timer controls the appliance’s wash cycle operations, including filling, soaking, washing, spinning and rinsing. If your washer is no longer progressing properly through each cycle, you may need to replace the assembly with this item. Note that this issue is often misdiagnosed; refer to the Repair Help section on the Whirlpool Parts website for additional repair information. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Helpful Tip: Pull the tab at the backside of the timer to release the knob from front. We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
