Clip on Defrost Thermostat

This Top Freezer Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat is a safety device that clips onto the evaporator in the freezer and turns off the defrost heater in case it gets too warm in the freezer section. If your refrigerator does not defrost, both the thermostat and heater can be tested to determine which part is at fault. Replacing the thermostat will require basic hand tools and some disassembly of the refrigerator. Previous repair experience will be helpful but is not necessary. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
