Defrost Heater and Thermostat Assembly

The SxS Refrigerator Defrost Heater Assembly melts frost from the evaporator of the appliance throughout the automatic defrost cycle that occurs during normal operation. If the evaporator is freezing up and affecting the performance of the refrigerator, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. To replace the part, remove the ice bucket and all shelving from the freezer so you can access the back panel. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also turn off the refrigerator's water supply before you begin.
