Go to StoreThis Top Load Washer Start Capacitor briefly increases the voltage to the motor to help the motor start. If your washer motor won't start or hums, this part may need to be replaced. Remove the washer console and then the spring clips that hold the body to the frame of the washer. Transfer the old foam shield holding the old capacitor to the new part before installing. Specifications: 189-227MFD, 125VAC, 60HZ. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
