It measures approx. 1" L and is used inside the gear casing to lock the center gear to the center shaft. If the beater isn't being driven, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools and disassembly of the mixer. Previous repair experience will be helpful but is not necessary. You must unplug the appliance before installing this part and make sure all the attachments are removed.
