Bake Igniter

The Gas Range Bake Igniter supplies the gas to light bake burner inside your appliance’s oven. This part is designed to be used with gas ovens that have a Direct Spark Ignition (DSI). You may need this replacement part if the element itself shorted out, or if the igniter of your oven glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame – this indicates that the igniter is too weak to properly open the valve to allow the gas to feed through. The igniter must glow white hot to properly light the oven; if it glows red or orange it is not functioning correctly. Replacing this assembly will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the gas range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
