Igniter Switch

The Gas Range Cooktop Igniter Switch Assembly includes the igniter Switches and complete wire harness that light the surface burners on the cooktop. You may need this replacement part if the element itself shorted out, or if the igniter of your range glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame – this indicates that the igniter is too weak to properly open the valve to allow the gas to feed through. Replacing the part may alleviate these issues. The igniter must glow white hot to properly light the burner; if it glows red or orange it is not functioning properly. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the gas range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.
